Huge.
When I saw this, I had to try to get the whole flavor of the tree by taking a set of photos for a panoramic view. It’s gargantuan.
Full of “Spanish moss” which isn’t Spanish nor moss. It’s an air-feeding plant which is not parasitic (does not harm the plant).
The branches are so long that they dip down to the ground.
For perspective, look at the bench on the right.
Amazing.

Life is short.
Enjoy the beauty of every moment.
Some are more beautiful than others.
This one was thrilling.
Our last day at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, before returning home.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Wasn’t that nice?

Sunrise on Hilton Head
Taken with my now dearly departed, as in stolen, Olympus C2100UZ, a delightful camera with a wonderful lens.
Some of the most beautiful beach views anywhere. Karen and I try to make it down there once a year to restore our souls and give our love some together time. Our busy lives need that restoration. We feel like it’s a honeymoon all over again.
Sleeping at night with the sound of the ocean is a tonic of rare (to this Mid-Westerner) relaxation. The smell of the saltwater in the air within the cool breezes clears out all my sinuses and gives me energy.
Hilton Head, South Carolina has some great building limitations which create a green paradise. I recall our first trip, and not being able to see the Wal-Mart from the road for all the trees and sign limitations.
There’s a town nearby, Beaufort, which has an historic district with much of the area untouched by the Civil War destruction. Many examples of homes and structures from the antibellum period. History in stone and wood. Full of fascinating shops, restaurants and places to explore. Be sure to try the she-crab soup!

Just a panorama of a windy, cloudy day at Indiana Beach at Chesterton, IN. Lake Michigan looking much like an ocean. Fun!

Panorama of a waterfront tree with Spanish moss
I took about 20 pictures and used panoramic software to create a single picute.
Gives you a feel for how large this tree is.
Taken in Beaufort, South Carolina, a beautiful costal town which contains many pre-cival war homes.
