Layla Rose has her posse

Oops, I almost forgot my photo of the day!

I spent a delightful afternoon with my niece Monica, her husband Matt (nice

name!) their daughter Cora and nine-day-old Layla Rose.

I was taking newborn photos of my great niece Layla. A learning experience

for me. Stretching my photohraphy skills.

This photo I took after all my “film” was filled up, with my Treo phone.

Handy to always have a camera with me in whatever form.

I’m laying in bed, about to start my nightly reading (ebooks on my Treo -

sure is a handy multi-purpose tool), and I remembered my POTD was not up.

I grabbed this picture off my phone’s memory and am emailing it to both

Flickr and my blog, from the Treo!

Did I mention that I’m a tech geek? :-)

Layla Rose was being admired by her sister Cora’s neighborhood friends.

Always a photo op!

Companion & Friend

Quick grab to put up a new photo.

I put my camera into wireless master mode and my external flash on the sun room table pointing up at the ceiling.

I tried for an over head point down shot, but I had my 50mm on and it’s no macro.

Even though Johanna’s eyes are out of focus, there’s enough in focus on her that I picked this one.

I love when she lays her head on my feet. She’s almost there in this shot.

She got tired of the flash, and scampered off to less flashy confines.

Oh, by the way, it’s World Pentax Day and this is my contribution!

Choral Director

Sr. Francis Mary O.P. - My choir director.

I was at choir practice tonight, preparing for Sunday and Easter. Chrisy, the Flautist and SFM, were practicing a Mozart piece before the beginning of practice, while folks were gathering.

I couldn’t pass the opportunity to take some action shots of them

I missed getting a good photo of the two of them, so I captured them separately. Only one picture of the day though.

We have so much fun at practice. Some time too much fun!

Sr. Francis Mary keeps us in line, with gentle reminders that we only have so much time, and so much music to go over. We listen, usually. ;-)

When we put our best efforts together, we sound wonderful. Practice does make perfect (not that we’re perfect, just better when we practice).

I love playing the guitar and singing with this group of friends.

Teresa Smiles

From work again.

Teresa.

She’s the most efficient, yet practical factotum anyone can have to work with.

From the Latin meaning to do or make everything.

She does that and with a smile. Always a smile. =)

Roseann

During a conference call today at work.

Roseann was gracious enough to allow me to take this.

Relaxed and comfortable.

As opposed to the subject matter of the call. ;-)

I cropped this to a 16:9 ratio. I like the cinematic look.

Tree Family

From the past again.

Been busy. =)

From my first paid gig as a photographer.

I can’t take credit for the composition. It was Mom’s idea!

One thing I’ve learned, is to listen to Mom. ;-)

I think it turned out quite nice.

Alyssa - Senior Photo

Taken last August in the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Nice location.

Beautiful Niece.

What more can I say?

We had fun. I learned a bunch. Family hugs were shared.

And, this photo is one that was picked.
