So, I turned to using my creative mind and came up with a photo.
In our guest bathroom - which my bride Karen uses as her morning refreshing area.
I set up my camera on a short tripod, and positioned the toothbrush holder just so.
I set the ISO to 100, the exposure time to 30 seconds at f27 with a 2 second delay.
Got my trusty LED flashlight ready - turned on the red LED to full power.
Started the exposure, and with my hand cupped over the flashlight, letting a very narrow beam out, started painting the scene with light.
It turned out much darker than I was expecting, but I use post processing to bring it out to what you see.
Kinda grunge-like as wizardjks says - one of my Flickr buddies.
My niece Monica figures I was on the commode when I came up with the idea. Not quite, but close Monica
Much more fun than bottling up the feelings, don’t you think?
Since Thursday evening, we’ve been trying to swap out a bunch of old workstations for new ones. Bunch meaning if I rounded up it would be 300. Actually slightly less.
This is the view I’ve had for a while.
The speaker phone connecting me to hard fighters on 2nd and 3rd level support.
The good outcome, is that the folks at the other end of my support line, are good, and persistent. I’m glad they are there in times like these.
We’re in the midst of several upgrades to our network and servers at work. It’s very cold outside, so being inside has warmth benefits, even if I have to be at work until 10:30 tonight.
I was in between action and snapped this tonight with my SIgma 17-70mm lens (thanks Dolanh on Flickr for the great photos which nudged me towards buying this wonderful lens).
You can see that my walls are adorned with photos.
Gee, I wonder why?
My family and friends keep me company while I’m at work.

Candle Glow
Karen received this nice candle. It’s a wax cylinder with different wood and paper embedded into the walls. At the bottom is a short platform which holds a tea candle. Very nice light.
Candles must touch some deep gene for the wonder of fire.
I’m pushing the limits of noise on this with my Panasonic FZ-30. Soon will have a Pentax K10D in my photo toolkit.
This glow helped to wash away the greyness of the weather today. Very overcast and gloomy all day long.
I hope there’s a candle glowing where you are to remind you of the fire of the sun that’s behind the clouds of today.

candle
Just playing around.
Took a picture of a new candle on a table. Brought it into post processing and played for an hour. A learning exercise.
I like the color and the dimensional feeling.
But then, I’m easily amused.
You?

Refracted Glow
Grabbed my camera and pointed it at the Christmas tree lights through one of the glass pendants hanging from the dining room chandelier.
Sometimes all it takes is opening my eyes and opening my mind to the possibilities within view. How many other scenes or people or events pass me by because I’m too self-involved?
Nature provides much, I have to nurture my skills in seeing.
I’m having fun with this today!
