I set up my camera on top of my car, lens resting upon my Treo 755p phone for some vertical lift. I put on my remote shutter, and moved into position.
I took a few frames from further away. Then kept snapping away as I approached.
This was the last frame.
Just me, peering into the lens, sharing the sunset.
As soon as Karen asked me if I would go to the event with her, I said Yes! I love Asian/Indian food and music. I immediately planned on taking my camera gear with me, as I knew that seldom seen sights would be presented.
Two groups of University of Illinois students, one from Springfield, one from Champaign, presented lively and colorful dance sets. A duo singing entertainers presented Indian songs from different eras. The woman singer, had a very high pitch quality to her voice which at first was jarring to my uneducated ears, but the sound of which I came to enjoy and recognize her great talent.
The food was prepared by a restaurant out of Chicago, and was superb. I loved it all, especially the chickpea dish, and the curried chicken delight. Yum!
Karen and I had a fine time, and ended up with superb dinner conversation with a local doctor friend. Lively discussions on the latest Presidential election. =)
A good time, with great sounds, sights and delicious delights.
Just a little black & white, looking down my nose, over my glasses photo for ya.
Heading into the home stretch of the 366 self portrait project. 6 weeks left. Wow!
More to come, another one tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Karen’s Mom & Dad, Mary & Tom, at their grandson Conor’s basketball game.
Eighth grade basketball. Top of the heap before High School.
No matter the score, you can count on Grandma & Grandpa to be cheering for their grandson’s team.
I had to clear my pipes before singing. After using the restroom for it’s normal purposes, I noticed the lighting.
Quick pull out my cameraphone - Treo 755p at the moment - position and presto!
Portrait of the artist preparing to sing.
Thank goodness no one’s around when I do this type of stuff.
Silly. =)
Late in the evening’s light, in a park. I asked Emily to turn her head towards me.
Such lovely eyes and a beautiful smile.
The inner beauty matches the outer. Fun!
I thought a view into our tenor/alto section would be of interest.
Out came my phone, point it our way, and hope the choir director was concentrating on the piano and not sneaky me. =)
That’s my sister in the back row between Dan and me. Julie at the right.
We’ve just four more practices until Christmas. I don’t know if I’ll get away with any more shennanigans like this.
Perhaps the snow will come as predicted for tomorrow night. Then it’ll look like Winter is here.
