I cannot recall the name of this tree.
I can sharply recall the spikes that dot its trunk.
I had to get closer to the tree to get this image. In doing so, I moved down a slight slope, and had to steady myself with one hand on the trunk of the tree, while avoiding the spikes. Yikes!
Love the remnant of the spider’s web, dangling like the remains of a battle upon a sword.





It is a hawthorne. Remember the one we had on beardstown road and poking each other with the needles? Where did you take it? I use the needles in my Resurrection eggs with the kiddos.
I remember! The Honey Locust has thorns like this. The difference is in the leaves. I’ll look to see if I have pics of the whole tree. It’s the one in Stewart Park
