Karen grabbed this one of a hovering hummingbird, about to land on one of our two feeders on our deck.

I’m humbled. I sat out there with my camera tonight, and caught several photographs of the hummingbirds, but none as good as this one that my dear bride, my Karen Sue took last week.

These birds are smart and swift.

As I sat there, they kept giving me the eye. One came nearly within arm’s reach, checking me out. I was too stunned and in awe at the boldness of this tiny beast, that I only got one image of that close encounter.

I’ll stake out the feeders again, near sunset, when they seem to come out in numbers and with frequency.

Until I get a better image, I’m proud of my artist-in-residence and her great eye for an image.
