Bring on the Bees

This Russian Sage bush was busy with visitors today.

Bees, and lots of them, were busy flitting from blossom to blossom as they went about the work of gathering and transferring pollen. I kept trying to get a good up close image but they were just a bit too busy for me. If I were dedicated, I would have hung out for a much longer time.

The Russian Sage usually blooms near Fall, but here the seasons have advanced by weeks. Makes me wonder what this coming winter will be like. We could use the snow to help replenish the ground-water reserves, but I don’t relish all that snow shoveling.

Love the color.

  1. So pretty…still finding beauty in this hot dry summer!

  2. Thank you, Barbara. We’ve had a bit of rain. A wee bit. We have been watering this and the other garden plants, so they thrive.
