A bit more than a half an inch of rain doused the area this afternoon. .66 of an inch according to the National Weather Service.
It was a glorious sound, tinged with sadness.
Too late for the corn, bushes, trees, and many things trying to eek out every scintilla of moisture from the parched earth.
Perhaps not too late for the soybeans and other things growing.
It is beautiful to look at.
