It’s a birthday party. Not your birthday party.
It’s time to open gifts and cards and see what bounty was bestowed upon the birthday boy. A handy window seat allows others to get close to the action and vicariously enjoy the fun.
Lewis, my great-nephew, is the one with the birthday, seen here about to open the birthday card that likely has a gift that fits inside the card. Money, or a gift certificate, I suspect, as do both the fellows flanking Lew.
As I was scanning the pictures we took of that party, and that look of anticipation is priceless.
