Walkin’ at Sunset

That’s some dried up grass there, being used here as a canvas for my walking shadow.

The high tomorrow is predicted to be 104F or 40C. The earth is getting mighty parched.

The sticks in my hands are my Leki trekking poles. I walk with them for stability and added upper-body exercise. On my head is my Tilley Airflo hat to shade from the sun (when overhead) and to keep the sweat out of my eyes.

A sunset walk was called for, as it was hot today. I’m planning on getting up very early to get another walk in before the super heat sets in.

I left my usual camera behind tonight. This was captured with my cameraphone, the LG Optimus S.

Use the camera you have with you. Be sure to always have one on hand, even if it’s the cameraphone.

  1. Great “seeing” you, Matt! :)

104F?!?! Are you sure you aren’t in Texas? Those are mighty high temps. Please keep hydrated while on these sweltering walks. We want our photographer to stay well.

  2. Thanks, Katya! I drink plenty before, during and after a walk. Water, we need more of it.
