The sky was putting on a dramatic show, using the clouds and sunset light as I was travelling home tonight.

I made a detour to a place which has an open sky, so I could get the whole panorama. I pulled out my trusty and pocketable Panasonic LX3, and started a series of overlapping vertical frames with a couple of horizontals thrown in just to be sure.

After I took the photographs, I stood and stared.

The grandeur of the clouds, fanned out across the massive sky, lit from behind by the setting sun. That was soul stirring. The magnificence of the sky gave me a thrill of awe.

I highly recommend stopping and staring.
