This was the sweet topping to my morning commute the other day. A sunrise that used the tops and bottoms of the clouds for a canvas of daybreak colors that lifted my spirits.
The drive to work for me is a short one. If all the traffic signals are right, and there’s not many folks on the road, I can make it in seven minutes, door to door. That’s one of the benefits of living in a rural area. The rush hour is more like the rush 15 minutes at the most. Some drive in from 90 minutes away or more. They go where the jobs are.
This same street that I drive into work, runs one block away from my office. If I have to get into work during the night for an emergency, which has happened, I’m able to be there in just a few minutes. I once had a technician on the cell at my house, made the decision that I had to go into work, kept them on the line, doing further diagnosis, and walked into the building to his amazement less than 10 minutes later. His commute is about an hour. I consider myself very fortunate for the shortness of my daily drive.
This sunrise beauty reminds me that I need to make sunrises more a part of my day.
Why put off a chance for a view such as this to start my day!
