The Remains of the Day

The day was wonderful, as Christmas should be.

Full of song, praise and prayers, food and family, conversation and laughter.

A time to strengthen family bonds and remind ourselves how much a gift that we give each other when we spend time together.

That was the best gift given today. Time together, remembering how much we care, and love to share stories, tears, and the laughs, lots of laughs.

The tree is beautiful. All the red ornaments are from Karen’s Grandparents. They were long stored and not used, but Karen rescued them from oblivion and put them up last year and this. A sort of a family touchstone to remind us of those who kept traditions alive, passing them on now to us, bringing another generation of family together.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

  1. This is just the way it should be. Ours was quite similar and for that we are so grateful. Merry Christmas to you and your sweet Karen, Matt!
