The Christmas tree has a special gift under it, at least in this photograph it does.

SIssy was enjoying the Christmas tree. I’m not sure what fascination is there for the cats, but they gather around it, especially when it is first put up.

I took the opportunity to noodle around with one of my lenses that is fully manual, which presents a challenge. The biggest challenge is getting the focus just right. It’s slightly off here, but I liked the composition, with Sissy standing and staring amid the low, lighted branches of the tree.

That’s one thing I can usually depend on with Sissy. She’ll stay still long enough, usually, for me to grab the shot. The lack of fine focus, I’ll put down to my fumbling and the room being lit by not much more than the tree lights.

It was a beautiful day today. The anticipation is of tomorrow’s Christmas celebrations: Singing in the choir at church, family gathering and a good meal shared.

I’ll be dreaming of a white Christmas, which will have to do. It will be merry and bright enough to bring good cheer.
