I happened to be at the right place for a nice sunset.
I go chasing after sunsets. It’s in my nature. When I see clouds like those in this scene near sundown, I find it hard to not divert from where ever I’m intending, and try to find the right spot to grab me some of that sunset glory.
Riverside Park, which borders a section of the Sangamon River near Springfield, Illinois, is a great place to be for a sunset. The river twists and bends around some scenic forest views. The reflection of the sky and trees in the water, makes for some great visual interest.
Since the park closes, and by that I mean it locks up the gates, at dusk, I was a bit concerned that I might get stuck in the park after sunset. I grabbed this and a few others and took off for another view of the sunset outside the park. Some day, I will get locked in and see if I can find a way out. But that’s an adventure for another day.
On this day, I stood and watched the sun slip behind the trees. It was a peaceful bunch of moments, savoring that light.

Keep chasing those sunsets!
No doubt about that, Barbara. It’s in my genetic makeup.
