Wake Up Walk

I noticed a group of images on the memory card that was in my camera as I was out going for a photo walk near sunset. I wondered if Karen had taken them at sunrise that morning, our last full day on the island.

I asked Karen later about them and she calmly told me that those were taken by me that morning at her request. I had arose, still clinging to slumber, to visit the loo, when Karen requested that I get some images of the sunrise for her. I was still mostly asleep, but aware enough to grab the camera, set it up, and fire off six frames. I do recall placing the camera back in the chair that I had claimed as my nest for the week, saying “That was that” and plopping back under the covers for another hour of blissful slumber.

I also recall timing my shots around the couple in the lower foreground. I was trying to capture them slightly separated and with their legs extended forward. At least that’s what my foggy brain recalls now, seeing this.

That’s three times that I was up before sunrise in one week. The last one barely counts as I wasn’t fully awake. This pre-dawn stuff has to be approached more carefully. Going from a night owl to an early bird, well, that’s unheard of!

One thing I know, we will be back again to this beach. Each visit has us enjoying it more and more, no matter what time of day.
