Autumn Sunset

It was still a pretty scene, before I tinkered with it.

I admit that I punched this one up a bit. Having fun with saturation and some artificial coloring.

I gave it a bit of “Oooohhhh!” factor I guess I needed a bit of that today.

I usually find the beauty in life as I capture it naturally. Then again, even the quality of my lens and the algorithms in the chips that turn the light into a stream of ones and zeroes add their own twist to the reality of life captured by my camera.

So one more of the trees and scenes of autumn for my collection.

The turning of the leaves, a reminder that all life has seasons that change.

  1. Literal has a wide breadth. If one is euphoric, they’ll see colors as more vibrant, more exciting. If they are glum, while the colors might perk them up a bit, they will still be influenced by mood and will lack the luster that they might otherwise. That’s why I always say that my photography isn’t as it is, but as I see it. All this to say, I love this photo. I think your tinkering served the the scene beautifully. Now, we know you are a master of literal’s “median” (literal’s literal), but this is equally wonderful, and I’m glad you shared it. :)

  2. Oh, Katya, thank you for the validation that I feel from your comment. I’m exploring the interpretive me and enjoying the smiles that come upon my face when I let go.

  3. You know, it’s funny, Matt. I see the interpretive you in everything you post — the framing, the exposure, the choice of subject, the presentation. It’s your unique eye, and, afterall, the eye is the best of artists…if I can steal from R.W. Emerson. :)

  4. Let’s say I’m exploring where the wild things in me go. =)
