Even the most simple parts of life are more complicated than first meets the eye.
Taking time to look up close brings a view of the richness of the world that mostly passed by without notice.
This leaf caught my eye as it was glowing with the late afternoon sun.
That sunlight gives the leaf the energy it needs, along with water, to convert the carbon dioxide in the air to sugars that it needs to grow, and giving off oxygen to replenish our atmosphere. All oxygen breathing life depends on these green plants and the photosynthesis that is the engine of the plant’s life. Without them, all air-breathing creatures would die.
Pretty important stuff, these green leaves.
Lovely to look at and linger for a moment or two, seeing what I usually pass by.
