50 plus years together and the smiles still come easy, when these two lovebirds sat down for a quick portrait.

My brother Larry and his bride Beverly quickly agreed to sit for my camera at the request of their four daughters, my nieces. When the girls all gang up, they are a powerful force, whatever their mission.

We were gathered at the home of Larry & Bev’s youngest, Katherine with her growing family: husband Chris, sons Charlie & Lewis, and brand new addition, baby Ellie. It was Ellie’s baptismal day celebration, with family and friends gathered to once again renew our family bonds.

The day was a delight, with sun and warm autumn temperatures to go along with the warm hearts and endless grins. Talk flowed easy, laughter filled the rooms of the house. News of the extended family was shared around.

The spotlight was on Miss Ellie, as it was because of her that we all gathered. She was passed around, and everyone wanted their picture taken with the newest family member. She was most cooperative, only crying a couple of times, and then only for a short bit before settling down to a contented wonder at the world around or a peaceful slumber. Such a delightful child. A wonderful thing, is a new life.

Larry & Bev have the youthful look that I’ve seen with other couples that live and love for many years. There’s an inner glow from their happiness at being together that shows.

They took their love and now have quite the growing family passing on their love. Four girls, with now nine grandchildren in the past 12 years.

Here’s to you two, you inspire just by being who you are.
