The long and lonely rural road.
A fresh overlay of black asphalt dotted with bright yellow stripes, marking with dashes the division of west and east travelers.
Telephone & electrical wires and poles line both sides of the road, carrying power and information to and from the communities and farm houses that dot the landscape between vast fields of corn and soybeans.
The overcast sky at sunset, laying a blanket of moisture to help keep the near autumn heat of the ever shortening days throughout the night.
One look and the scene subtly changes as the miles pass underneath tires that sing a lulling song of the road.
This is the heartland of America. The breadbasket of the world. Dependent on the right amounts of rain and sun, and a whole lot of work by farmers.
It might not look like it, but this is part of the engine of the world.
Peaceful too.

Some people don’t understand the prairie. For those of us who do, it is home, and is ever alluring. Thanks, Matt.
