Greeter

Sissy, one of our two cats, in a typical pose, at the back door to greet us when we arrive home.

Smokey, the other and more active of the two, had long gone, having completed her greeting duty.

This one waits on the stairs, watching for when I turn to start walking up. That’s her cue to stretch over several steps, looking back at me over one shoulder to silently say: “I’ve greeted you, now you are required to scratch and pet my back.” Not asking, mind you, making demands.

Sissy meows a lot in an attempt to get us to do something that she wants us to do.

On the stairs, I often have to start nudging her with my feet, to let her know that I am done doing her bidding and i need her out of the way so I can make my way up the steps. Usually, she moves.

Usually.
