The connection between mother and daughter is like no other. Here, my niece Katherine cradles her infant daughter Ellie, giving her a reassuring kiss.
The moment was special and my opportunity was fleeting. The focus is off, but the feeling is right there, especially in both of their eyes. Miss Ellie with a wide-eyed yet relaxed look, and Katherine looking out for her baby and savoring the closeness.
Life isn’t perfect, and moments are always fleeting, but I’m glad I kept my eyes open for this one. I hardly ever put my camera away, knowing that these are precious times, when our loved ones are babies. They grow up fast, and the first year is full of vast changes.
So, Katherine and Chris, hold on and cherish Ellie, as I saw you do all day today. She’ll be the better for having you two as her loving Mom & Dad.
