Heck, I don’t know what plant this is, but what was fascinating were the teeny, tiny white flowers that looked like they had dancing legs hanging out of them.
I was enjoying the out of doors after work tonight. It’s been like an oven with a boiling pot of water in it, with the heat and humidity being up there to the end of the “Oh My Goodness!” spectrum. With a temperature range more to my liking, tonight was the night for lingering outside.
Karen’s garden has a variety of flowers and herbs in it. I reap the benefits of her labors, both in the visual beauty as well as the culinary cuttings. This is probably basil, but I have no idea.
I noticed the little white flowers and set my Panasonic LX3 to the Macro setting. Sticking the lens nearly into the dangling stamen, I fired off a few, with this one being the last and best of the bunch.
The texture of the underside of the leaves is interesting. It reminds me of the pocked marked surface of an orange, but in a leafy green sort of way. The background of blue sky is a nice punch of alternate color to counter-weight the bunch of green.
I didn’t spend more than five minutes at looking for a photograph. In fact, I did spend more time looking at the sky and how well the tree trimmers did on my neighbor’s trees. It’s not hard to find something of interest for my camera’s lens.
Enjoyable walk outside, supplemented with a memory of natural beauty in a photograph.

This is lovely, Matt. So vibrant and joyful.
Thank you, Katya!
I’m enjoying a journey in post processing that was pointed out to me by yours truly!
Lovely, indeed. Perfect-focused flower, blended into the green that sustains it and the evening sky blue, carrying the setting sun that makes life possible.
