It happened again.
I saw the sunset as I was leaving work tonight, having finished some after-hours computer upgrades. The windows of a nearby office building were brilliantly glowing with a golden glow from the setting sun. The sky was loaded with different types of clouds that were starting to shine with the reflected colors of golds.
I brought out my pocket camera, the mighty Panasonic LX3 and headed west, chasing the fading sun.
It was going to be a hard task to get to a good spot before the colors faded to the gray of night.
I grabbed some captures as I was driving, sticking my camera out my window, as the traffic thinned. Some vertical, some landscape. There was more light, and I kept driving, seeking a better vantage point.
I passed up my turn home, and went further west, looking for a turn off to the south, so I could get some of those wispy magenta clouds. I turned on Farmingdale Cemetery Road, and after a turn, stopped for this vista. The tree on the right was the kicker for me. The road was reflecting the nice purple light.
Just because I wasn’t in a perfect place for the sunset when I started out, I didn’t give up. I pressed forward, knowing that I had a very little bit of time left.
All in search, of a bit of twilight magic light.

Beautiful light and dark contrast, tinged with that Midwest palette of mellow sunset color. Well done.
