Playing a game of Duck, Duck, Duck. Not Duck, Duck, Goose!
Washington Park Lagoon is a place where ducks are almost always found hanging around. The water draws them in and keeps them, almost all year round.
Families can be found bringing their young ones to see and feed the ducks. The birds have it ingrained in their genes to come near the folks along the shore, hesitantly seeing if another snack or meal is to be found.
This group was on the far shore, allowing me a chance to try out the mega-large telephoto lens that my brother Larry gifted to me. It’s a Tamron 200-500mm lens that is an Adaptall model – that means that I was able to take off the Olympus connector and replace it with a Pentax mount, allowing me to put it on my Pentax K20D. It’s a fine piece of glass, that give me a good reach. It’s a very heavy lens, suitable for a tripod only or resting on a pad or railing, never hand-held.
A bit of nature, brought closer by a few pieces of glass in a metal tube.
Magic.
