So many signs of the coming of Spring.
As I was walking along the Interurban Trail on Springfield’s south side, I kept noticing the flocks of geese in flying “V” formations heading north, one after another. There was a rushing stream of water pouring off the surrounding fields into a creek nearby. The sun was shining warm and it just felt like Spring is just around the next bend.
The next bend might contain more snow or ice, but it’s clear that the animals are sensing that their time of new growth is approaching.
This snow-covered corn field, had the look of a receding glacier. Combined with that superb blue and white cloud covered sky and the later afternoon sun, and I had a photo opportunity. I had several combinations of compositions that I took around the same time, with this one coming closest to what I was trying to get.
Today was an overcast and gray day, gloomy and just no fun to look at.
Looking at this reminder of the coming Spring, I tell myself, that even the most gloomy gray day has the joy of the moment in it. Even as I struggled to remain positive, I remembered that in the moment, I have the choice to appreciate that which I do have, or lament that which I do not. Believe me, it’s much more uplifting to appreciate the haves, than to curse the have nots.
One more day, one more chance, countless moments of wonder to enjoy.

Oh my God.. Matt! This is spectacular. Angles, colors, shadows, textures. You have it all. What a shot!
