At the edge of a corn field, ringed with snow in the drainage ditch, the sunset sky put on a show tonight.
I was heading home after an afternoon trek on a local bike trail, followed by a photo session with a pack of deer in a nature preserve. I had a load of photos and was tuckered out, then the sunset came a calling. I pressed on westward, heading to an open field.
I got exactly what I was looking for.
The wispy clouds picked up the orange-pink last light of the setting sun, surrounded by the deepening blues of the night sky, and the fire at the horizon.
A feast for the eyes, and a burst of joy for the soul.
That’s why I keep pushing on to get the next frame. You never know when the magic will explode in front of your lens.

You continue to be the king of sunsets. What a blend of color, mood and quiet peace.
