A fascinating cactus.

There was a fallen dried leaf embedded into the very top of this. I decided to get it out, because I thought it was ruining the photo. Dang, those spikes are sharp! I finally pulled out my pen and gently flipped it out.

A round cactus, protecting itself with the hundreds of spikes surrounding it’s green core. A thing of beauty, and a plant to be approached carefully.

Just one more item from the Washington Park Botanical Garden.

Spring is in the air.

The sun is shining and I’m heading out to one of the local trails.
