They look like shark’s teeth to me.
The sharp focus being a thin slice of this plant’s one leaf, the rest being a creamy backdrop. That’s what makes this one of my most favorite lenses. A Vivitar 28mm f2 Close Focus. The lens dates from the year my bride and I were married, 1978.
Not bad for a 31 year old lens.
Sometimes, I never know what is going to come out of my camera when I’ve pointed it and snapped off another frame. I was trying to get the sawtooth edges of this leaf. That, I did achieve, but the whole image is a work of art to my eyes.
Out of the chaos of out of focus colors comes this sharp-edged finger of a leaf, pointing up and out towards the light. I love it.
That’s part of the wonder and magic of exploring the world around me with a camera. I sit in delight, at times like this, at an image that I quickly glanced at when I took it. The camera sees more than I can. It freezes a moment in time, a composition of a unique mix of light and objects that I can later dwell on and let my reaction deepen.
Always carry a camera, and never be afraid to grab one more frame. The moment is magical and you grab it while you can.

Wow. Can you get any better than this? Expertly finessed depth of field. Stunning shot.
Another beautiful image! I love the sharp detail of the single leaf against the lovely, soft background of the other leaves. Such a beautiful leaf with so much detail for the naked eye to explore!
