Wet Beauty

It’s a wet day in Central Illinois.

July 4th, celebration of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, is usually a hot sunny day. Not this year in the mid-west.

That’s alright by me. I’ve been working at reducing my backlog of photography work, and that’s just fine. The rain helps keep my concentration. Otherwise, I’d be out on the hunt for more photos waiting to be noticed and captured.

This photo from an April occasion, which I’m working on, was a moments notice of the beauty of the rain on these flowers – a dogwood, perhaps. I was taking a moment to chill down from a very warm indoors event, and took just one of the tree.

Not perfect, but suitable for the weather that we’re having today.

No matter the plan, what reality brings can be beautiful, if I just take time to see it.
