Tyler & Rachel.
They’re getting married in November in Rachel’s home State of Mississippi. I’m happy to have been chosen to document their wedding.
Tyler is my Karen Sue’s nephew. The oldest of of five, the first to be wed.
Son Chris, Karen & I headed out with Tyler & Rachel today for their engagement session. We had so much fun.
I love how this one shows off their playfulness.
After I left the graduation party yesterday, I saw the sunset was presenting a special show.
I got to my location of choice for sunsets in time for this.
I took a series of stills and used Autopano to stitch them together. This one worked out better than the earlier panorama attempt in the day.
I love how dark the clouds are above the small opening for the sun to shine as it sets.
The horizon aglow.
It reminded me of the children’s book, Goodnight Moon. Not sure why, but there it is.
I’m working on my stitched panoramas with this one.
Making mistakes and learning from them.
In this case, I should have set the exposure a bit more for the sky, so the bright clouds to the left would not be blown out with highlights.
Live and learn.
The most important part of that, is to be make the attempt. It’s hard to learn from nothing. The learning is from the doing.
Rachel & Tyler.
Karen’s first nephew, her brother Tom’s oldest son.
He lives and works in Mississippi, Jackson to be specific.
Rachel is a Mississippi girl who Tyler met, and fell in love with. They plan on getting married in November.
I love this candid photo of them. Rachel, smiling and saying something to Tyler and Tyler with a puzzled look on his face with his hand to his mouth. I see this as a metaphor for their constant state of growing closer, more in love, and puzzling out their oneness. It brought a smile to my face.
So much can be said with just a look.
Conor Ford graduated from the 8th grade tonight. On to high school for him.
The Ford family gathered to celebrate. Including Tyler & Rachel from Mississippi. They’re planning on a November wedding, that we’re all looking forward to.
Conor got several awards, including a Presidential medal for academic achievement, and an award for being one of the most charitable as voted by his classmates. I was impressed. Conor’s a great fellow.
Multiple layers of light, layers of clouds, with the sun bursting through the middle.
This greeted me as I left work the other day. I had my Panasonic LX3 in my pants pocket and went for it intstinctively.
A quick check of the settings and a single frame grab.
I had this in my vault, waiting for this moment.
I have been working all day to set up a replacement workstation for my photography workflow. Sunset came, and I had not taken a single new photo.
So, I went trolling through the archives, using the new workstation.
This one drew my attention, as it did on the day I grabbed it.
I find it a wonderful thing to have a treasure trove of moments to choose from. Same goes for my memories. There’s always something of interest to reflect on.
