We drove from Lahaina around the far Western portion of Maui to Wailukui today. I knew that some of this road was one lane, but I wasn’t prepared for how narrow that one lane was, and how terrifying the drop-offs were to thousands of feet below with no guard-rails for much of the road.
In these photos, you get a small taste of how narrow it was, but believe me, we were both to scared to much more than hold on and hope for now oncoming traffic in the scariest portions. Not a thought to use the camera!
This is the Nakelele Blowhole. The big waves on a windy day were pushing the blowhole to great heights. A wonder to behold.
