Take a look at this and then close your eyes.

Imagine the smell of the sea, the sounds of birds, feel the sea breeze touching your face.

This is Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge in South Carolina, just outside of Hilton Head Island.

We stopped there on our first day of vacation last year. It’s a beautiful retreat full of nature’s finest from the area. Marshlands, sandy soil, tall canopied forests.

I realized after I started working on this photo for today, that it isn’t in focus. It does give the impression of being there, especially after I did a bit of HDR (High Dynamic Range) mojo work on it.

Not perfect, but worthy of a view or two.
