Instinct.
Go with your gut feeling.
I had taken some great photos and was at home, when my bride Karen said, you have to take photos of the sunset, it looks so good!
I looked and said, “I know, I thought it would look good as I was heading home after my photo shoot. But I’m going to skip this one.”
I was thinking that the light would change so much by the time I got to a clear horizon, that the good scene we were seeing would be long gone.
I went back to processing the day’s photos and tried to forget having to miss the sunset.
Then that little voice inside said – look again, you can make something out of this yet.
I was getting my plate for dinner, when I realized that my gut was telling me to go, give it a try. I decided to listen and act.
I told Karen that I was heading out, and she exclaimed “It’s too late, the clouds I was seeing are long gone.” I said, “I think I can still get some great scenes of other clouds.”
I took off and headed to the nearby lane with a clear view of the sky.
I was stunned by the show provided for me.
I’m glad I listened and went with my instinct.
