I saw the clouds, heavy with more rain, and thought of this grain storage facility.
It’s about 2 miles past my home neighborhood, on the way to Pleasant Plains and Petersburg.
Doing a high dynamic range conversion immediately came to mind.
With the excess rain we’ve had this year, the corn crop is rated at only a 50% yeild as opposed to yields in the 90s of recent years. That may improve, but the fields are full of woefully stunted growth, to my eyes.
The Led Zeppelin song “Stairway to Heaven” came to me when I thought of a title. The song starts: “There’s a lady who knows, all that glitters is gold, and she’s buying the stairway to heaven.” With the image of these silos full of gold kernels of corn, I put the two together.
I pray for better weather for our farmers. The world needs healthy crop yields.

This is striking… how did I miss it? The strength of the farmer contrasted by the strength of nature, upon which the farmer relies. And another gifted cloud shot.
