163 of 366 Self Portraits


I walked into the lower level of my home from the garage and saw the light.

I put everything down, got out my camera and started the hunt for this photo.

Very late afternoon light, streaming through the windows at the top of the stairs. I knew I had seconds until the light was gone.

I had set the ISO to 800 and lowered the shutter to 1/8th a second. Positioned myself in the light, then the most important part - relaxed.

I was torn between the colored version and this black & white conversion. I chose the monochrome one to emphasize the shadows and the light.
