Changing With the Wind

I’m having more fun with the combination of my Sigma 10-20mm and the thunderclouds we’ve had for the past month.

One person’s nightmare, brings interest to my lens.

I was driving home from a portrait session. One look at the sky and I was thinking of where to get a good vantage point for these storm clouds.

I found a good spot – quickly as the sky was presenting a moving tableau every few seconds.

Changing with the winds.

  1. do you ever find that in these times we rely too much on our equipment and editing software to create good images? i think that is one of my biggest challenges, to rise above the norm and use my eyes rather than the technology. i still utilize this technology, but i try to use it at a minimum. what are your thoughts?

  2. Powerful … with strong subject contrast.. calm Earth and roiling sky.

  3. just out of curiosity, why havent you approved my previous comment on this post?

  4. Allie – For some reason, WordPress had stopped notifying me of comments pending. Heck I don’t even get those from folks who’ve been ok’d like my brother Nick. =) I’ll work on fixing that. I want to answer any questions.

About your thoughts. – I love to get it right in camera. With this image, I used the clarity slider in Lightroom to bring out the definition in the clouds a bit more. Otherwise, it’s as I saw it. The 10-20mm Sigma give it a bit of a distortion at the edges, but even it’s wide angle is much smaller than my eyes perceive.

Thank you for your thoughts! I look forward to seeing your photos sometime.
