My neighbors Gary & Sue’s red roses.
These weathered the tornado watch winds and hail on Friday night. They turned out just fine.
Sue let me know they were in bloom and had survived and wondered if I wanted to photograph them. Of course I would!
I took close-ups yesterday. Today, had my ultra-wide-angle lens on and was looking for a view of the whole bed.
The sun was casting this whole side in a deep shadow. I put on my Gary Fong Puffer attachment for the pop-up flash. That really helps even out the light – soften and diffuse it. I cranked up the power on the flash to +1.0 EV to give it a bit more fill.
I like this view of the whole row of roses. Nice job Gary & Sue!
