See the hole next to the plug of dirt?

It’s called soil aeration.

The intent is to give the grass some room to grow, the soil some room to breathe and to let nutrients get in.

I dunno, it sounds beneficial.

The countless soil plugs look like a herd of cats, having bowel problems, visited my lawn, leaving deposits. =)

With the rain we’ve been getting, these, which are about a month old, are almost fully dissolved back into the ground.

Makes for an interesting macro, though!
