Imagine my surprise.

First, I spotted the horses, then when I saw the horses by the small road-side cemetery, I had to stop.

Check for traffic: None – This is one of those seldom traveled roads around the local airport. Farmland surrounds most of the airport and there are tillable fields within the airport fence. Perfect for stopping.

Frame and snap. I took two photos. One just wasn’t what I wanted. This one is much better.

The bonus: The bird, in the same pose as the horse. Both searching for dinner among the grass and fields. I didn’t see that until I was developing the photo.

New life, growing and making their own way in the circle of life, among those gone and remembered.
