She then proceded to do all she could to act cute for the camera, although at high speed! I showed he this one early on and that seemed to satisfy her. She seemed to consent to her Great Uncle Matt and his camera.
She’s a ball of energy for certain.
I had much fun with her and her sister Layla as well as their mom & dad Monica & Matt.
I have to admit: I was happy to move on at their bedtime. =)
Cute Balls of Girlish Energy are best left to their mom and dad, don’t you think?
I wouldn’t want to take away from their fun.

Half self portrait.
Many thanks Monica for the hospitality and the family fun.
I converted to this black & white. I liked it better than the color.

A Grape Hyacinth.
The color caught my eye as I was walking around the house looking for signs of Spring.
This is in a flower bed we put in at the side of our home. The land slopes downward. Large 8X8 inch wood marks the plot. In the center there’s the remains of a might oak tree which finally gave in to disease and was taken out many years ago. It’s slowly feeding the ground cover and flowers that Karen plants here.
I was teetering on one of the pieces of wood and trying to stabilize my shot. Not easy at all. I managed, between a faster shutter speed and slowing my breath.
A bright splash of blue in a sea of green.l

Even more unusual: we met up at a store neither of us planning on being there at the same time.
Getting pretty familiar with eachother’s thoughts: Priceless.
Since yesterday’s self portrait had the a reflection of the inside of our sunroom, I figured a sp using the outside of the sunroom would work out well.
Karen asked to get into the act. I readily acquiesced.
Set the timer and head back to pose.
A portrait of the two of us, in our backyard, enjoying a lovely Spring evening.

I was planning on using up a car wash code which I had rattling around in my pocket after work. No rain scheduled for a day or so, and my car needed a Spring Cleaning.
I threw on my wide-angle Sigma 17-70mm lens – which is a real work horse, and sweet, sharp lens.
Just wait until this whirling strips of stuff are trying to whip off the grime from my car, and presto!
My car wash goodness for a photo of the day.

I had a few other ideas for a sp today, but this one was handy.
When we put on our sunroom, bunches of years ago, it started as just a deck.
As these home improvements go, it grew. It turned into a deck and a four season sun room.
Since we thought it would be a 3 season room, we put weather sealed patio doors on the opening to the house. This has forever bothered me. Why, you ask? Because these doors are never closed. Ever.
Were we to do it over, this would be a simple opening into the dining room, and the space currently taken up with the doors, would be reclaimed.
Oh well, that’s for the next owner to decide. These doors will remain for now. A reminder of choices made. =)
That’s me in the reflection, giving a silly look.
You can see why we like the sunroom. Who wouldn’t?

I went out late this afternoon and took a walk around the house, checking out the new life.
This caught my eye.
The new leaf buds on a maple tree, reaching out to the sky in search of nurturing rays of light.
