Flat Scout visited me via a Flickr friend, BelleBleau.
Her daughter, Scout, drew herself, and posted it to Flickr. She then sent requests for folks to print and cut out the “Flat Scout” drawing and take a photo with Scout in it and post the photo to a special Flickr group: www.flickr.com/groups/flatscoutproject/
It’s a twist on the Flat Stanley project.
I chose to take Scout to see President Abraham Lincoln’s Tomb, which is in my hometown of Springfield, Illinois. Read about the tomb here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln%27s_Tomb
Scout got a chance to rub Lincoln’s nose! There’s a bronze bust of Lincoln in front of the tomb. It’s traditional to give his nose a rub for luck. Kind of like kissing the Blarney Stone. Lincoln’s nose is always shiny gold from all the rubbing it gets.
I like the blue cloudy sky as the backdrop in this photo. I think I heard Scout say she likes it as well.
