02.01
It snowed 12.9 inches here overnight.
I believe that’s a record.
Most folks stayed home so the city, county and State crews could do their work at clearing the roads.
My bride Karen and I ventured out early and made it to work. Not that we’re irreplaceable, but we both have positions where lots of other folk depend on us being there. So Karen cleaned off her car and around it, while I was putting myself together (she’s an early riser, I’m not by nature).
Thank you to those two or three vehicles who went before us from our subdivision. We gunned the gas and settled into their tire-tracks and made it out. If we had been the first out, I don’t think we would have made it.
Once out of the subdivision, it was failry clear, but slippery.
This construction backhoe was scooping up all the snow from the parking lot outside my office and dumping it over the fence. It’s not a large parking lot, but it still to him over an hour to clear. One scoop at a time.
Look for some snow angels perhaps tomorrow. =)
