After I left this location, I was bugged by the fact that the sunset became more spectacular as I traveled closer to home.
This was the second location I chose to take the sunset’s portrait from tonight. I ended up stopping at three separate locations, and finally letting go on traveling to a fourth and headed home.
By the time I had to decide on going to a fourth location, the skies were lush in purples clouds against the deep blue skies
This was a reminder that I should have listened to my gut at location number two. “Stay here, it’ll only get better after the sun set” is what my inner voice was saying. It was correct.
Another lesson learned. Another beautiful sunset provided free of charge.
February 29, a Friday Leap Day. Special in many ways. The Leap Year calendar repeats itself every 400 years. There are only 14 Leap Fridays in that 400 year period.
I’m leaping on Leap Day.
Note the remote shutter trigger in my right hand. Easier to catch my leap. =)
After choir practice ended, we were greeted by a blizzard of snow.
This young lady, one of our flute players, was helping to clear the snow from cars. An almost fruitless task at the rate the snow was piling up.
I wanted to capture the snow in motion and a bit of her peeking above the hood of the car next to me.
I think I got it!
Just running a bit behind and needed to pull one from my files for today’s self portrait.
Tomorrow, I will be on the line. It’s Leap Day!
Now, I’ve got to come up with something really interesting, involving leap.
Hmmmmmmmm.
I’ll let my brain simmer on that one overnight.
Ah Ha! An idea is created.
I set up my camera on my gorillapod, set the timer, used manual focus.
Step into the light near the white board and here you are.
A shadow - with some detail - of me. You can see the outline of my name-badge on my shirt.
Funkadelic!
I noticed it this morning, on my way for some breakfast.
A simple matter to grab my ever ready camera, frame, focus and snap off two shots.
Not exactly what I was looking for. Perhaps next time, I’ll go wider and get the whole front hall and door. That might give better feel for the beauty of the light.
They don’t call it the golden hour for nothing!
