Even though the trees were beautiful, and the weather was fine, I didn’t feel pulled that direction today.
I’m getting ready for some time off work, and had my mind busy with those preparations.
Tonight, I was searching for some subject for my picture of the day, and thought of painting with light.
Always a challenge and fun.
I spied this crystal swan, which is about one inch tall.
Grabbed the tripod, swapped in my macro lens, and setup my background.
I was using a snooted low power (1/64) flash, popping it from various angles, but that gave a curious effect, which I’ll have to explore later. Suffice for now to say that the object appeared blurred.
I pulled out my pocket flashlight, and put it on medium red (a nice flash which can do either white or red at variable power levels).
Of course this is the last and only red one. =)
I like the glow.

Amazing. Beautiful. Ethereal.
