Welcome Home Moon

The moon greeted me as I walked off the plane tonight.

It followed me home.

I said thank you for the escort, then took this portrait

Thanks Moon!

p. s. It’s good to be home.

Harbour Morning Sky

Yes, I do get outside of my hotel room.

I swapped it for a conference room with about 30 other folks working all day together.

I was glad to get out into some fresh air.

This was my sunrise today.

Pretty in Pink. =)

Baltimore Inner Harbour

The view outside my hotel window.

Sweet!

After successfully (not intentional) keeping my eyes open until 1:30AM this morning, I awoke at 3:50AM to my chirping alarm.

A long day of drives, planes, light rail, and walking, not to mention the business meeting at 3:30 which continued until about 8PM.

I like coming into my room and seeing this.

Refreshing.

Of course, seeing it on the outside is even better.

Baltimore, Maryland is where I am until late Wednesday.

I hope to get a chance for some other photos, in-between meetings.

Wanna bet I make time? =)

Katelyn

From a recent photo session with Katelyn for her senior portrait.

Katelyn had just stood up from laying on the ground for one pose (the bricks were a great backdrop).

She started shaking out her hair, and I said “Keep doing that!”

Then I had her flip her hair up into the air.

I’m grateful for a fast shutter and quick burst mode on my camera. =)

Can you tell she was having fun?

We all did that day.

And this is but one of the photos to prove it.

Mum’s Light

Before starting dinner preparations, Karen said “If you want to take a picture of the new flowers, now would be a good time.”

The light of the sunset was hitting these mums like a golden spotlight.

I knew I didn’t have much time.

Light is fleeting – it changes every second, especially at sunrise and sunset.

I swapped out lenses, putting on my Tamron 70-300 macro.

This is one of several photos which result from my answering Karen’s call.

My bride said she liked this one a bunch.

Grand total time to take photos from when Karen made her request?

5 minutes.

After I took my last one of these mums, they were in the shadows.

Fleeting beauty.

Keep your eyes open, you never know what will surprise your eyes. =)

Washington Park Aster

From a recent trek into Washington Park on a Saturday afternoon.

The leaves are turning, and the nights are cooler now, just a week later. I doubt that this flower looks near as good as this.

Lavender, and shades of purple were my mother’s favorite color, and are one of mine.

I like the contrast with the greens in the background.

The petals seem to be reaching out to embrace what sun there was on a cloudy day, or perhaps to give me a hug. Who knows!

I hope you can embrace the day, wherever you are, and find sights which fill you with joy, wonder and peace.

Sunset Blue Clouds

Around 6:15PM, as I was getting into my car, going from one place to another, I looked up.

There were the most awesome and interesting clouds, painted with the sunset.

I took others, but this on was taken straight up, over my head.

Directly out of my camera with just raw to jpeg conversion.

Unreal. =)
