Pop Goes Johanna

Having fun with desaturation. I wasn’t too impressed with the results, but Karen said she liked it.

So.

Here it is.

I have had an old Vivitar 135mm f2.8 M42 mount (screw mount) lens which I picked up for a pittance from a retiring photographer a while back. I didn’t spend the time to get to know it, and had relegated it to my backup bag (had not seen the sun shine for a couple of months).

I have been wanting a good prime (non-zoom) lens with a wide aperture for low-light shooting. I thought back to this lens, and resolved to give it another go.

I am glad I did.

This is a tack sharp lens, which I just have to use and get experience with. The lens is fine. I’m the one who needs to get better. =)

Anywho, I was taking photos of Johanna, for practice, working at locking in focus.

She was as cooperative as a cat of 18 years can be.

This pose is as still as she got all night.

Just for you.

And for me.

A bit of desaturation of all but the orange and yellow sliders in Lightroom, and here you are.
