This is taken near the beginning of the trails.
You might notice the dirt paths. That’s pretty much all the trail is.
The other loop, hasn’t been maintained for a while, so there’s a long part of it, which the trail mostly dissapears.
The quality of light, late in the afternoon, filtered by the green canopy, was magnificent.
This was our second visit. We didn’t stay until sunset in the garden this time.
We did have dinner at The Ariston Cafe which is a lovely restaurant on old Route 66. Check out their desserts – well worth the calories if you’ve a mind to indulge.
We had fun, took lots of photos, and enjoyed the sunset after dinner.
Litchfield also has an outdoor drive-in theater, in case you plan a trip.


All the classic beauty of gorgeous hues, highlighted by the filtering sun and a human-measured, dusty foot path. One of my favorites.
