Heading out to get my haircut in Chatham, IL (I’d drive a mile for a haircut by Andrea!).
I took a different route, actually, I missed a turn and started making shortcut corrections, going on streets i seldom use.
Ask me sometime about how I like to get lost in a new city, just to explore and push myself to use reckoning skills. =)
But I digress.
So I had my 50mm f1.4 on again. I almost changed it out for another lens, but decided to get more familiar with this one. I had it ready at my side: Turned on, cap off, focused to infinity, and settings for the light from my car window. That’s almost a habit with me now.
The scene prior to this one was of a large corn field, post harvest. The first harvested corn field I’ve seen this year. With all the green and blue sky, that yellow and very dark (almost black) dirt of a field after harvest and the stalks having been plowed under was a stark contrast.
My first shot was mostly sky.
This one then caught my eye.
The foreground is a fallow field of grass and shrubs and trees, with a back strip of pre-harvested corn.
That blue sky with the white clouds grabbed me.

Wow. Perfect. Stupendous. What a gorgeous shot. Mix of sky and clouds and beautiful contrast with tree in right background and earth/sky tones. Congratulations!
