We had a lovely day today at Larry & Bev’s place in Decatur, IL.
He’s my brother of the oldest kind, 20 years older as a matter of fact. =)
We’ve spend more family gatherings at Larry & Bev’s home over the past 25+ years than I can begin to remember. Always gracious hosts.
My niece, Katherine, and her husband Chris were co-hosts, helping out in hundreds of ways, making the hosting easier for her mom and dad.
My bride, Karen, made baba ganoush, roasted vegetables, and fresh vegis for munching on.
Nephew-in-law John made a wickedly good Firehouse Baked Beans dish that is still producing prodigious amounts of methane, tootfully expelled by your’s truly.
There were many other dishes full of delights.
Boat rides on the lake for some, including water skiing or tubing, brought many smiles.
Lots of conversation and just plain enjoying family.
I’ve picked a few of the hundreds of photos that Karen and I took today for posting to Flickr before I catch some zzzzzz’s.
This is a light fixture above the kitchen table. I found it very interesting!

Photo: Entirely spell-binding. I love its simplicity. Very modern in its presentation.
Day: It sounds like it was a winner. Fun at the lake with family can never be bad.
